What People Say About Our Fitness Industry Training Courses
Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training and Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing
“I am a qualified Fitness Professional”
I started my journey with YBFIT Training back in March with a phone call to enquire about courses. I have been a qualified Nordic Walking instructor for a few years but wanted to further my anatomical & physiological knowledge.
I signed up for Gym Instruction and Personal Trainer bundle courses. Both these courses have exceeded my expectations, I now have the confidence to change the direction of my business with the skills I’ve learnt, especially through the market research & business planning assignments and also through my own self-reflection.
YBFIT Training have been by my side, at the end of the phone or an email, the whole way through this process. From my initial enquiry I knew that I had stumbled across an awesome training establishment.
These courses have been no walk in the park, it has been tough. I have studied, researched and written enough notes to write a book, or two! I have been emotionally, physically and mentally challenged; have laughed, cried, spent many an hour talking to myself in the gym and have covered the family in Post-It notes on more than one occasion!
I highly recommend YBFIT Training, especially if you are coming into the fitness industry later on in life. You are never too old to learn new skills.
Thank you, Claire and Debs.
It has been hard work but I have loved it. I can’t wait to see where this journey is going to take me.

Level 2 Award in Water-Based Exercise (Aqua)
A wonderful experience and learning journey in the Aqua certification with YBFIT Training. I was fortunate to find them and so booked last minute. Administration was well taken care of. Our instructor was ‘amazing’! a fun, down to earth teaching style with a fab blend of ‘by the book’ and ‘vast hands on experience’ so the delivered is ‘user friendly’
Lots of practical practicing opportunity and encouraged open conversations.
We were a small group thankfully, all were friendly, warm and with lots of sharings, which just added to the overall experience.
Thank you Claire x 2 (Claire Baker and Claire Stone)

Group Exercise to Music
I made the right decision when I enrolled to the Group Exercise to Music course with YBFITTraining. I had an amazing experience throughout; everyone was really friendly and supportive.
The practical days were great to understand the key concepts, and with the additional home study, to get me prepared for the exam.
As I am a newbie in the industry, I had many-many questions; especially how to start my journey once I have my certifIcate.
Claire has been amazing and helped me to understand this better too.
I can truly recommend the services of YBFIT Training; the team is responsive and they are there to help you to reach your dreams 🙂

Level 3 Award in Designing Exercise Programmes for Older People
I have just completed the Award in Designing Exercise Programmes for Older People which I was able to complete online. The booking process was super easy; Claire was efficient and helpful. Our tutor Linda was also lovely and really knows her stuff. I would recommend YBFIT if you are considering furthering your knowledge or just starting out in the industry.

Water Based Exercise
I am a recently retired gentleman and gym bunny at Cheam, previously Leatherhead, Nuffield. I do regular gym work outs plus aqua and spinning classes and I thought: why not get qualified to instruct AQUA ? The course was recommended to me by Senior Instructor Steve at Cheam Nuffield
The on-line YMCA Anatomy & Physiology and Principles of Exercise were intellectually stimulating. And have made me much more aware about my own personal training. (Yep – I had been doing it wrong and stuck in a rut for years).
But YBFIT Training’s practical Water Based Exercise course at Leatherhead can only be described as OUTSTANDING . Big thanks to the Claires – Baker and Stone – for the structured, professional and fun delivery. And for the great material. An unexpected amount of mid night oil doing the (mandatory) session planning. And for personal reasons I had to do the practical in two hits. But win-win this allowed me to prepare the mid night oil paperwork more easily second time round. And quite frankly, I enjoyed doing the course twice. A couple of fun days, twice over, and big thanks to the Claires.
Come on, all you gym bunnies – get qualified!
Colin – April 2021
Any future courses/qualifications or workshops I will now always go to them first as a fitness education provider and advise anyone who is thinking or looking to start their fitness career, wanting to up-skill or add to their qualifications should look no further.
Give them a call- just do it!

This is a Testimonial from one of our Students Jason who was part way through his training when the UK went into Lockdown in March 2020. Thank you Jason
‘As a PT Diploma student earlier this year I did the majority of my studies and coursework remotely during lockdown 1. It gave me something positive to focus on and if I’m honest, kept me going when things got me down. It also meant I was qualified and ready for when the restrictions eased, enabling me to get out and do what I love a lot earlier than I would otherwise. Of course I’d have preferred to be in the classroom and gym but hey, Corona put an end to that. Claire and the team were brilliant throughout. The support and motivation was immense and I’m sure you’ll find the same.’

Level 3 Pilates Matwork Qualification
I had been thinking about doing this qualification for a while when a cancer diagnosis hurled me into action, but the course started just 6 weeks post surgery and I was concerned that I was going to find it too much of a challenge. However after chatting with Marie Claire on the phone, I felt confident that it was achievable and she reassured me that my body would be healed enough to be able to do what was required. If anything it gave me a reason to push myself towards a speedy recovery.
On top of this I also could only attend half of each weekend as I work on Saturdays, so again we talked it through and came to an arrangement to meet privately a few times and cover the things that I had missed, which although I was a bit worried about it, worked absolutely fine.
I won’t lie, the learning for the exams was tough and with RadioTherapy brain, verging on ridiculous. But now I am on the other side of the exam I am delighted that I decided to do it. Marie Claire has been a brilliant support and tutor and just the right balance of ‘no nonsense’ to allow me to just get on with it without using my illness as an excuse, and that is exactly what I needed!
I really recommend the course with YBFIT and can’t wait to do Yoga next (at some point!) as my next challenge.
The weekends are an excellent balance of fun and hard work and they give you the confidence to get on with it whatever your personal challenges are!
Personal Training qualification
Emily Williams has recently passed her Personal Training qualification with us and she can’t wait to get training people.

Level 3 Tutor/Assessor Course
Aiming to become a Powerhoop Trainer, I decided to take the Level 3 Tutor/Assessor Course at YBFIT Training. It turned out to be one of the best things I’ve ever done. The team were extremely supportive, provided excellent materials and the teaching was enjoyable and of a very high standard. I was given every assistance with the coursework, able to watch Exercise to Music training in progress and provided with sufficient information and knowledge to be able to carry out my own assessment. I cannot praise YBFIT highly enough – and everything I learned on the course will help me in my new position of Powerhoop Trainer/Assessor.
I just wanted to thank yourself and also Claire Stone for your fantastic ETM course. After passing on the 25th of January I managed to get straight in and teach my 1st class on the 30th of January… daunting and scary to say the least. I was very nervous but kept calm and it went very well, clients came up to me afterwards and thanked me and said they had really enjoyed the class which made me feel good.
I analysed the class afterwards as of course I made mistakes and asked the class for feedback, since then I have taught 64 classes and have improved a lot and my confidence has rocketed. Ive still got lots to work on but each class is a new opportunity to excel further. Clients thank me after lots of my classes that I have the privilege to cover and I have clients who have taken the time to put in written positive feedback. Instructors have passed my contact details recommending me and I have had so much work which I never ever imagined. Exercise classes has helped me to shed 5.5 stone so it feels great to finally give some of that enthusiasm to others and help them achieve their goals.
Again thanks to you and your team for your fabulous courses…
Pilates, Exercise Referral and Low Back Pain qualifications
In my opinion what makes YBFIT Training different from other training providers I have encountered is the director Claire, not only is she passionate about her role, she really cares about the welfare of her learners. YBFIT is not just a training provider which gives good quality training courses, Claire has also created a nurturing environment that enables the learners to blossom and become better instructors. To me, that is what makes YBFIT stand out. The tutors she takes onboard are of the high calibre, experienced, knowledgeable and supportive, not to mention with good humour. I always have a good laugh on their courses, which makes learning fun and enjoyable.
I came across YBFIT when I was searching for Aqua course, it was not an easy decision to go with YBFIT as the location is not convenient for me, which means extra costs incurred for travel and hotel. After numerous phone calls with the the Aqua tutor and Claire, I was really happy to book on the course; a decision I’ve never looked back on.
I have tried a couple of other training providers (purely because they are closer to me), but was bitterly disappointed. If you are happy to be part of a production line, need minimum to no support for the courses, happy to grab your certificate and be confident at what you just spent a weekend learning with the other 14 learners, then you might be ok.
However if you are like me, who not only want a good quality training course, but need that little extra help and support, YBFIT is for you. The groups at YBFIT are normally small, which means the tutor can spend time with individuals and tailored to their needs. The ongoing support is phenomenal. There have been occasions when I wasn’t even booked on a course at YBFIT but I wanted Claire’s advice, she would not hesitant to write back very quickly and gave me objective and empathetic advice.
I have done Pilates, Exercise Referral and Low Back Pain with YBFIT since Aqua, and after my disappointment with other training providers, I have vowed to do all my fitness courses with YBFIT. Well done Claire/YBFIT, keep up the good work!
I am really grateful to YBFIT, I am the instructor I am today thanks to them and I will never stop learning and improving.
YMCA Awards Level 2 Fitness Instructing Gym-Based Exercise and Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training
‘I completed 2 courses with YBFIT Training in 2016, the level 2&3 personal trainer course .
I really enjoyed the courses and because the courses were held over weekends, it fitted in really well with my other job and family commitments .
The instructors were very good and made the leading fun and also were very supportive to all our specific needs. (Some of us had more experience/ confidence than others ).
The venue is easy to get to and the facilities excellent .
I am hoping to do another course there this year.
Thank you YBFIT Training ‘
“I recently attended a 2 day course in Water Based Exercise (Aqua Aerobics) provided by YBFIT Training.
I’m currently a Group Exercise instructor, predominantly teaching Indoor Cycle. I wanted to add to my fitness knowledge and open up other opportunities to teach different classes, so decided to take the WBE course.
YBFIT Training had been recommended to me, and was also at a convenient time and location so I choose this course over other providers. I would also gain a recognised qualification that the current Gym networks I work for, would be happy to accept.
The course was attended by 7 in total, with a good mix of teaching experience and backgrounds. This made for some great questions and ideas, so having never taught Water-Based Exercise before, this was also helpful. The tutor was very accommodating to the group providing ideas and suggestions, so whilst a portion of the course is class room based, it was interactive and involving rather than set in an academic format.
We had time in the pool, to begin to understand how the body can move in water and how it differs from teaching a land based exercise class. We then took our assessments.
I thoroughly enjoyed the course and found it very informative. It was hard work, as there’s a lot to cover in 2 days, but I felt ready afterwards to face the public and take on a class!
It is a good starting point to then build up a bank of moves. I have a greater understanding of the limitations and opportunities of Water-Based Exercise and am excited to put it all into practice.
It is a great course, with a very professional and friendly tutor. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would happily return to YBFIT Training if I have future training needs.

Personal Training and Group Exercise Instructor
“I have just completed my second course with YBFIT Training. The first being ‘Exercise to music’ last spring and the second in ‘Level 3 Mat Pilates’. I would highly recommend YBFIT Training to anyone already working in the fitness industry, or someone looking for a change in career. The instructors I had for both courses were fantastic and we became to see them more as friends then teachers. I was already a Personal Trainer when I undertook my courses with YBFIT Training, and since it has really helped to boost my client base and the number of sessions I am completing each week. Although the courses were challenging, the instructors along with the rest of the staff made the courses very enjoyable. They were also more than willing to give additional support, even giving up their own time.
I now feel confident and in control when teaching one to one and in my classes.”
“My name is Magda Colley and I joined YBFIT Training after being made redundant from a position of a Marketing Services Manager working in the commerce sector for many years. Being a frequent visitor to a local sport club, I felt that I can face the challenge of a new career path and become a fitness instructor. I enrolled at Exercise to Music Course which proved to be a steep learning curve for me as the course was quite thorough and I had to prepare my own aerobic class for an assessment.
After a shaky start to my fitness career I arranged a Gym Instructor Course on one to one basis to fit with my limited timetable. My tutor, Becky Cuffy took me through my paces and I worked very hard both during practical session and a gym based assessment. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and feel confident towards a prospect of working as a gym instructor. When I saw that YBFit training was offering a weekend course for an Aqua Instructor and did not hesitate twice and took on that challenge once again. All the previous knowledge both from the gym and aerobic class proved to be beneficial in understanding the structure of a water based exercises. I had not waited long before finding a suitable employment.
I am currently teaching aqua in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and hope to be able to complete Pilates Instructor course with YBFIT Training in the near future. I would recommend the centre to everyone, not only because teaching standards are excellent, study materials provided in advance but as the courses are tailored to individuals needs and assessment dates flexible. It allows candidates who travel from afar to accommodate their dates to their working commitments.”
