 How much do you promote online? How easy is it to find your business from the street? You have to make it as simple as possible for people to stumble on your business otherwise they will simply pass you by.

  1. Have you optimized your website SEO for your area or niche?

There are personal trainers who have spent thousands of pounds on a beautiful website that no one can find. It might look fantastic, but what’s the good of that if no one is arriving there? When was the last time you Googled “Personal Trainer *Your Area*” to see where you come up?

  1. Are you listed in every possible online directory?

If Search Engine Optimization is out of your budget at the moment; most directories rank on page 1 of Google and they’re generally FREE.

  1. Are you on every social media channel (YouTube, Twitter, facebook, LinkedIn, instagram etc.)?

You don’t have to be constantly active on every channel as guess what they can all be linked so often 1 post will do the lot or many at once! As a bare minimum you should have set up a profile with current business information and branding.

These days, business is all about co operation, not competition and it’s about making as many quality contacts as you can. Get out and meet your neighbours, email related businesses that you can create a mutually beneficial business relationship and make it a priority to contact several each and every week.

It might sound daunting, but it’s surprisingly quite simple to do with a little effort. The more exposure you receive the more people will be interested in what you do and therefore, the more leads you will generate.

  1. Contact industry publications with article Ideas.

You probably read or are subscribed to most of the fitness industry magazines, so send them an article on something interesting in or about your business, things like:

Massive client success stories

Explosive business growth

Unusual or funny fitness stories

Community activities you’re involved in

 

  1. Offer to speak at local events

Apart from raising your profile in the community you can also let your local community paper know about it. Local person done good stories are fantastic content for them and your community will see that you’re an expert.

Promote Yourself

No one is going to promote you as much, and as well as you can.

If you’re proud of what you do and your business; show it by getting out there and flashing your goods to the world!

Where does your target market congregate on and offline? If you don’t know, find out and have a presence there.

Most people say facebook for online and that’s true for the most part, but are you converting your friends and fans into business?

The same can be said offline. Your target market might work in a factory next door to your gym or the park you train from; when was the last time you stopped by to have a chat or even put up a poster?

Get out and about and meet the people. Join clubs, attend courses (not fitness related), be everywhere your potential clients could be and tell them what you do.
