Do you look forward to doing a training course or qualification or worry about going through the learning and then an assessment? If it’s the later here are my 5 top tips to help you ‘feel the fear’ of doing a course and going for it anyway. Now is the time to take the leap…

Feel the Fear but Ask Questions:

Before signing up, get all the details you need. Drop a message to the training folks and ask anything you’re unsure about. Seriously, no question is too small. Feeling a bit scared about the unknown is normal, but don’t let it stop you from getting the info you need.

Learn from Others:

Chat with people who’ve already done the training. Find out what it’s really like from folks who’ve been there. It’s a good way to “feel the fear” with the knowledge that others have faced it too.

Know What’s Expected:

Take a moment to understand what the training involves. What’s in the course? How do assessments work? When and where does it all happen? Knowing what’s coming might make you a bit less nervous.

Get Ready Early:

If you get any pre-course materials, dive in. Open those manuals even if they seem confusing at first. Getting familiar with the stuff early on helps you “feel the fear” of the unknown in a more manageable way.

Stay Positive:

Approach the training with an open mind and a positive attitude. It’s okay to feel a bit uneasy; you’re not alone. “Feel the fear” but let it push you towards learning and growing.
