Designed for those assessing Vocationally Related Qualifications (VRQs) or similar.

This qualification is for individuals who would like to pursue a career in assessing vocationally related qualifications within the active leisure sector. It is suitable for programme managers, studio coordinators, experienced fitness instructors and any one who would like to help raise the standards in the fitness industry.

Candidates will need to have industry experience and hold a nationally recognised qualification in the subject area that they wish to assess and aged 18 or over

Entry requirements:

Course Overview

The aim of this qualification is for the learner to be able to recognise the skills, knowledge and competence needed to work with independently active, older people in an unsupervised manner. There is a particular focus on the considerations for safe and effective exercise and how to plan and adapt exercise for this demographic group. With this course you will learn how to adapt your training methods to the older adult population, this includes the 70+ age group.

Entry Requirements/Learner prerequisites:

Minimum Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing.

Course overview:

The purpose of this qualification is to provide learners with an understanding and awareness of mental health, common mental health disorders and issues, help reduce stigma and discrimination and encourage people to talk about mental health. What you will learn:

  • How to programme safe and effective exercise for a range of clients.
  • The skills and knowledge required to plan and prepare a gym-based exercise programme with apparently healthy adults – both individuals and groups. This may include young people in the 14-16 age range, provided they are part of a larger adult group.

Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training, includes:

Course overview:

The Active IQ Diploma in Teaching Yoga is at level 3 on the Regulations Qualifications Framework.

You can gain the full Level 3 Diploma by enrolling onto this course, attending all the training days and completing the assessments. This is a blended learning course which means you will study the theory elements at home with the course manuals at your pace with tutor support.

Entry requirements:

      • You must be aged 16 years or older
      • A minimum of 2 years experience of participating in Yoga classes is desirable
      • There is an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved and learners should have basic skills in communication
      • A willingness to learn

    Aim:

    To provide learners with the knowledge and skills to plan, prepare and deliver safe and effective Yoga classes
