Course overview

Take your love of fitness and passion for teaching by using the experience you've gained over the years to another level with this qualification. You can train to become a course tutor and educator, so if you are looking to help inspire the next generation fo fitness instructors this is the course for you

This is a blended learning course, which means you will have days with your tutor and peers online an din real time. There is also an element of home study, preparation and revision with worksheets to complete along with our  tutor and centre support. Practice and session planning is required to be carried out in your own time in between the training days and leading up to assessment.

This Level 3 qualification is for individuals who would like to become course tutors and pursue a career in teaching and/or in the Further Education (FE, post 16 sector). The Active IQ Level 3 Award in Education and Training is equivalent and replaces the L3  PTLLS qualification.

This will qualify you to teach viocational qualifications that you are qualified in for example Level 2 Gym Instructing, Level 3 personal Training, level 3 Pilates and or Yoga, Level 2 Group Training, Water-Based Exercise and much more...

It is also suitable for programme managers, studio coordinators, experienced fitness instructors and anyone wanting to teach and deliver training in any industry as this is a generic qualification. or even those of you that want to give presentations and understand how to deliver information to help others learn.

The Active IQ Level 3 Award in Education and Training is at level 3 on the Qualifications and Credit Framework.

Venue

This course is delivered online via Zoom in real time with your tutor.

Zoom login details will be sent in an email with your pre course letter approximately 1-2 weeks prior to the course start date.

Entry requirements

• Learners must be 18 years or older.
• Candidates will need to have industry experience and hold a nationally recognised qualification in the subject area that they wish to teach.

What you will learn

The units in this qualification cover the following subjects:

• Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in Education and Training
• Facilitating learning in groups.
• Understanding assessment in education.

You will understand:

• How to design, deliver, assess and evaluate a structured programme of learning
• How to plan, teach and evaluate effective learning sessions
• The principles of education, training and assessment
• How to use a variety of teaching methods and learning resources to accommodate different learning needs and learning styles

Assessment

• Worksheets
• Portfolio of evidence
• Micro-Teach (practical demonstration) you will need to deliver at least one teaching session (60 mins) to a group of learners (video to be sent for assessment) and complete a session evaluation (teacher and learners) 
• Create a lesson plan and resources for the above practical teaching demonstration (minimum of 60 mins)
• Micro–Teach / observation log
• Evaluation and reflective learning
